The vineyards that produce the grapes for Montes Alpha Pinot Noir are located in the Casablanca, Zapallar, and Leyda Valleys, all located in the Aconcagua Coast wine region. All of the vineyards are trained to vertical shoot position and drip irrigated, and yields range from 6,245 to 7,137 lb/acre. Because vines have an excellent vegetative / productive balance, it is not necessary to adjust the load and canopy work is minimal. This also allows us to harvest healthy grapes with good balance.
Tasting Note
Brilliant and striking ruby red with a violet hue. The nose is very aromatic with aromas of red fruits recalling strawberries and tart cherries in liqueur. Fragrances of wild flowers and violets deliver the illusion of sitting in the forest shade. Complex. With time, seductive aromas of caramel waft from the glass and mingle with tenuous notes of fresh tobacco and dulce de leche. The palate is juicy, with very balanced acidity and the sweetness of round, ripe tannins. The generous and elegant mid-palate accentuates all of the sensations perceived on the nose, and the finish is remarkable and pleasing. The 2016 vintage of this coastal Pinot Noir once again opens the senses with the great joy it gives us year after year.
Food Pairing
Highly recommended with pasta and pesto, mild, creamy soups (mushroom, chicken), veal chops, salmon, Camembert cheese, mushroom risotto, arugula and herb salad, and bruschetta.
